Before you move, Pickfords visit your home to assess the volume of goods you intend to take and to provide a free quotation. If you choose Pickfords when moving to Canada, Pickfords wrap and pack your belongings and arrange to transport them by sea to Canada, where our local Allied agent will arrange customs clearance and delivery of your consignment.
Transit options when moving to Canada
FCL (full container load)
Your household effects will be export wrapped at your home and loaded into a 20ft or 40ft container and transported directly to the docks to await the next scheduled sailing. Pickfords' freight forwarding operation will liaise with the local Allied agent in Canada. Our agent will help clear your goods through customs and deliver them to your new home.
Groupage (shared services)
Your effects are export packed at your current residence on the agreed date and transferred to our international warehouse for onward transport to your new Canadian home.
You will share a container with another Pickfords customer moving to Canada. This is an ideal, cost effective service if you are taking a smaller shipment, as you only pay for the space your goods use in the container.
