Affordable storage for students

We understand that being a student often requires significant budgeting, and that’s why we’re pleased to offer affordable rates to give you a cost-effective storage option.

To help you save money we also give you the option to share your container with others. You can share your container between friends and split the cost.

We also offer discounts for students in our self store facilities in York and Cambridge.

Going on a year abroad?

Our long term storage option is ideal for students who are thinking of taking a year out to either study abroad or complete a year in industry. You can keep your belongings safe in our storage facilities whilst you’re away for that year.

Away for the holidays?

With our short term storage service you don’t need to worry about taking your belongings back home over the holidays, just to bring them back again when term resumes. We offer short-term storage for students with a minimum container rental of 4 weeks.

How does it work?

• Step 1. Fill out our online storage quote form. 
• Step 2. We’ll come and pack up your belongings.
• Step 3. We’ll bring your items to store.
• Step 4. Let us know when you want your belongings back and we’ll deliver them to your chosen address.

A secure space for your belongings

Enjoy your time away from studying with the peace of mind that your belongings are safely stored in one of our secure facilities. Our storage facilities have 24-hour CCTV, security fences, smoke detectors, fire alarms, and padlocks for each unit, you can be sure that your books, gadgets, clothes — or anything else you’d like to store — will be in a safe environment.

Should you and a group of friends want to save money, your local Pickfords branch offers shared storage, allowing you to split the cost by sharing a container as a group.

Need packing materials?

If you need boxes or other high quality packing materials let us know. We can deliver these to you if you would prefer to pack your belongings yourself. Alternatively, we can pack up your belongings for you.

Self Store

If you’re looking for the flexibility of self storage, where you can come and go regularly, then you may be interested in our Self Storage service. We have dedicated self storage facilities in Cambridge and York.

You’ll need to bring your belongings to our facility and pick them up when you want to take them again.
