Pickfords donates cardboard boxes to LandAid Sleep Out

21 Mar 2025

Supporting the fight against youth homelessness - Pickfords provided cardboard boxes for this year's LandAid Sleep Out to Help Out, helping participants stay sheltered while raising vital funds.

Pickfords supported this year's LandAid Sleep Out to Help Out by donating sturdy removals boxes for participants to use as shelter. The event took place on 27th February 2025 at the Cambridge University Football Club, alongside 7 other venues across the UK, with an additional SleepOut at Home initiative that encouraged people to take part in the event from their own homes.

In total, the event raised an impressive £637,887. The funds will go towards a variety of projects that provide young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness with essential services, including safe accommodation, life skills training and mental health support. The money will also help fund initiatives to help prevent homelessness, offering early intervention and support to those in need.

Each year, LandAid Sleep Outs take across the UK, bringing people together to spend a night outdoors and gain insight into the challenges faced by young people without a home. Funds raised go towards providing safe accommodation and essential support.

Solitaire Bateson, Cambridge Self Store Manager at Pickfords, arranged the donation of the boxes; ensuring participants had materials to help them get through the night. The LandAim team expressed their appreciation, stating:

"The boxes play a huge part in the event, ensuring our participants remain as safe as possible. By providing these free of charge, you have enabled as much of our fundraising as possible to go directly to the young people we support, who so desperately need our help. So, on behalf of them, and the whole LandAid Team, thank you!"

Pickfords is pleased to support initiatives like the LandAid Sleep Out and remains committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
