How do we calculate our costs?
If you are shipping baggage or luggage, the cost of your move is determined by the number of cartons you will be shipping and the dimensions of your items. Other factors include the transit method and the destination location in New Zealand.
If you are shipping furniture and household effects by sea the cost of your move is influenced by the volume of goods you will be shipping, the destination location, the packing service you have chosen and the transit option you have requested.
If you send items to New Zealand using air freight, you can expect to pay considerably more as the bulk of your costs are calculated based on the weight of your items. However, air freight is a great option when you need to send a small load, quickly.
What items can I ship to New Zealand?
Our team of experts know exactly what you can and cannot send to the New Zealand. Just like any country, New Zealand has its own list of restricted and prohibited items that you won’t be able to ship there, but if New Zealand border control allows it, we ship it. Prohibited items include:
-
Canned or dried meat, spices, honey, dairy and egg products or bee keeping equipment.
- Ornamental pipes (including Sheesha or Hookah pipes) and other cannabis or methamphetamine utensils
- All items manufactured from or originating from endangered wildlife must have a CITIES export permit issued by the appropriate authority in the country of origin. This includes ivory, shells & corals, feathers, reptiles, snakes, elephants, rhinos, hippos, members of the cat family, whales, dolphins, zebra, antelope, deer, and birds.
Your personal shipping manager will provide you with an extensive list detailing what you can send to New Zealand. If you have any concerns just let us know.
