Pickfords is part of the world’s largest moving network, providing a complete removals service from UK or Irish postcode to anywhere in the world.

When moving to India, Pickfords will arrange a complete packing and shipping service of your household effects to be passed on to Allied Pickfords in India for delivery to your new home.

On relocation to India, our international partners will help you settle in. Allied Pickfords have five key offices located across India, providing a local delivery service and support with documentation and customs clearance.

Arrival into India

Your household effects will be export wrapped at your home and loaded into a 20ft or 40ft container and transported directly to the docks to await the next scheduled sailing. Pickfords' freight forwarding operation will liaise with the local Allied agent in India. Our agent will help clear your goods through customs and deliver them to your new home.

Goods transportation

Once your effects are stored into packing boxes, they are secured in metal shipping containers and transported to India on cargo ships. You can choose a shipping service to suit your needs:

FCL (Full Container Load)

With exclusive container use, your effects will arrive within 6 to 9 weeks, depending which port you use.

Groupage

A shared container load with other expats means that you only pay for the space you use. Transit times for groupage are between 8 to 12 weeks for any available Indian port.

The transit time detailed is for guideline purposes only and may be subject to variation dependent upon prevailing market conditions, shipping line capacity and actual sailings. Your Move Manager will keep you updated following collection of your shipment.

What about car shipping?

Foreign and returning nationals are permitted to ship motor vehicles. Pickfords will arrange consignment of your car alongside your other belongings.

Can you store my belongings?

Yes. Pickfords can arrange storage for any or all of your effects either domestically or in India through our international storage services.
