How does it work?

We use sea freight to send your belongings to Australia. We understand that our customers have different requirements and different budgets. That's why we offer different options when it comes to sending your belonging to Australia by sea:

Shared Container (Groupage). This is the recommended option if you're not shipping a whole house load. Your belongings will be sent to Australia in a shared shipping container and you will only be charged for the space you use. This option is great if you're moving to Australia on a budget and you don't mind waiting slightly longer for your items. 

Full Container Load (FCL).  This is the recommended option if you're shipping a whole house load or you wish to send a vehicle to Australia. You'll be charged for a full container to fill how you wish. We will deliver the container to your UK residence, pack it for you and then ship it to Australia and deliver it to your new home. This is option costs more but it is much quicker than a shared container.

What happens at my destination?

Your personal Pickfords Move Manager will forward your paperwork to our teams in Australia. When your belongings arrive in Australia they will send you the relevant customs forms, help arrange customs clearance and delivery of your items to your end location.

On arrival at port in Australia, customs and quarantine may take between 10 to 20 working days to complete; this has been allowed in the overall door-to-door totals quoted. 

The transit time detailed is for guideline purposes only and may be subject to variation dependent upon prevailing market conditions, shipping line capacity and actual sailings. Your Move Manager will keep you updated following collection of your shipment.
