2025 global wage hikes across key nations
Austria:
- Red-white-red card (key employees): EUR 3,255 per month, up from EUR 3,030
- EU Blue Card: EUR 3,978.57 per month
- Super key employee: EUR 7,740 per month from EUR 7,272
- LSD-BG (Austrian Wage and Social Dumping Combating Act) exemption: EUR 7,740 per month, up from EUR 7,272
- Work authorization – exempt status minimum salary levels: International company executives or internationally renowned researchers to be granted work authorization exempt status - EUR 7,740 per month, up from EUR 7,272
Azerbaijan:
Effective January 1, 2025, the national minimum wage is increased to AZN 400 per month, up from AZN 345.
Bulgaria:
Effective January 1, 2025, the national minimum wage is increased to BGN 1,077 per month, up from BGN 933.
Columbia:
Effective January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Colombia increased to COP 1,423,500 per month
Denmark:
- Pay Limit Scheme applications (including those filed under the Fast-Track Scheme): DKK 514,000 per year, up from DKK 487,000.
- Supplementary Pay Limit Scheme applications: DKK 415,000 per year, up from DKK 393,000.
Finland:
- Specialist Permits and Blue Cards: EUR 3,827 per month, up from EUR 3,638
- Residence permit for an employed person: If there is no collective agreement or the work is part-time, the salary must now be at least EUR 1,600 per month, up from EUR 1,399.
Israel:
- Minimum monthly wage: Effective April 1, 2025, the minimum monthly salary in Israel will increase to NIS 6,248 gross per month, up from NIS 5,880
- Foreign national experts: B-1 Expert Work Visas and Hi-Tech B-1 Work Visas have increased to NIS 24,758 gross per month, up from NIS 23,460.
Lithuania:
The national minimum wage increased to EUR 1,038 per month, up from EUR 924 with effect from 1st January 2025.
Netherlands:
Following are changes with effect from 1st January, 2025.
National minimum wage is getting increased to EUR 14.06 per hour, from EUR 13.68
Work Permit related salary:
- Short term work permit – intra company transferees: (valid up to 90 days)
- Trainees: EUR 4,171 per month, up from EUR 3,909
- Key personnel and specialists: EUR 5,688 per month, up from EUR 5,331
- Short term highly skilled migrant work permit:
- Under 30: EUR 4,171 per month, up from EUR 3,909
- 30 years or older: EUR 5,688 per month, up from EUR 5,331
- EU Intra – Company Transfer Permits:
- Under 30: EUR 4,171 per month, up from EUR 3,909
- 30 years or older: Salary comparable to local workers in similar position, at least EUR 5,688 up from EUR 5,331
- Highly Skilled Migrants:
- Under 30: EUR 4,171 per month, up from EUR 3,909
- 30 years or older: EUR 5,688 per month, up from EUR 5,331
- Graduates & those transitioning from job search permit: EUR 2,989 up from EUR 2,801
- EU Blue Card:
- Standard applications: EUR 5,688 per month (excluding holiday allowance), up from EUR 5,331
- Graduated within 3 years of submitting Blue Card application: EUR 4,551 per month (excluding holiday allowance) , up from EUR 4,265
30% preferential tax treatment rule:
- Under 30 with a qualifying master’s degree: EUR 35,468 up from EUR 35,048
- All other employees: EUR 46,660 up from EUR 46,107
Poland:
Effective January 1, 2025 the minimum wage is increased to PLN 4,626 per month, up from PLN 4,300. Minimum hourly rate for civil contract holders is increased from PLN 28.10 to PLN 30.50
Romania:
With effect from January 1, 2025 the following changes were made:
General Minimum Salary: RON 4,050 up from RON 3,700
EU ICT Permit applicants and EU ICT Work Permit for Short-Term Mobility and Long-Term Mobility, Standard Seconded Workers: RON 4,050 up from RON 3,700
Local Hire & Residence Permit: RON 4,050 up from RON 3,700
Additional salary amounts required for sponsored dependents, applicable across all permit types: RON 4,050, up from RON 3,700
Slovakia:
The following changes are made in Slovakia with effect from January 1, 2025:
National minimum wage: EUR 816 up from EUR 750 per month.
National Visa in the Interest of the Slovak Republic permit: UR 2,860 up from EUR 2,608 per month.
