2026 Global Salary Threshold and Wage Changes

New immigration salary thresholds, minimum wage increases and income requirement updates have come into effect across Australia, France and Luxembourg, impacting employers, assignees and global mobility programmes.

Australia: 

The following changes are applicable since 1st July 2026: 

  • Core skills income has been increased to AUD 79,423 from AUD 76,515 

  • The specialist skills income threshold has been increased to AUD 146,576 from AUD 141,210 

  • The Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT), has been increased to AUD 79,423 from AUD 76,515 

  • The Fair Work High Income Threshold has increased to AUD 190,100 from AUD 183,100.  

  • The national minimum wage has increased to AUD 1,004.90 per week or AUD 26.44 per hour.  

France: 

Effective 1st June, the following changes are applicable: 

  • Minimum wage is EUR 1,867.02 gross per month up from EUR 1,823.03. 

  • The wage for Talent—Legal Representative is EUR 67,212.72 per year up from EUR 65,629.08. 

Luxembourg: 

The following changes are made effective 1st June 2026: 

  • The minimum salary level is EUR 3,325.59 gross per month, up from EUR 3,244.48 for skilled workers (academic or professional experience). 

  • The minimum salary level is EUR 2,771.33 gross per month, up from EUR 2,703.74 for unskilled workers. 

  • The minimum salary level is EUR 3,325.59 gross per month, up from EUR 3,244.48 for EU ICT Permit.
