Key global updates on minimum wages and salary thresholds worldwide
Georgia:
Minimum salary level has been increased to GEL 1,416.50 per month up from GEL 1,301.50.
Greece:
National minimum wage has been increased to EUR 920 gross per month (calculated over 14 payments) effective 1st April 2026.
Latvia:
Effective 1st April 2026, the minimum salary has been increased for the following:
Residence permit with work authorisation: EUR 1,815 gross per month
EU Blue card applicants: EUR 2,723 gross per month (or EUR 2,178 if the profession is in the labour shortage list)
Company officials: EUR 3,630 gross per month
Luxembourg:
The minimum salary for EU Blue card has been increased to EUR 65,653 effective 3rd March 2026.
New Zealand:
Effective March 9, 2026, the median wage has been increased to NZD 35 per hour for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) programme and AEWV-linked visas.
Romania:
The minimum salary will increase to RON 4,325 effective 1st July 2026. The same salary applies for EUR Intracompany Transferee (ICT) permit applicants, EUR ICT work permit for short- and long-term mobility, standard seconded workers, and local hire work and residence permit.
United Kingdom:
Effective 1st April 2026 the national minimum wage has increased to GBP 12.71 per hour for 21 or over.
